Yom Sheni Shvitz

We’re already halfway through the month Iyar! How are you doing on your fitness goals? Are you committing to your shvitz days as regularly as you are in counting the Omer? As you do your workout, think about what’s working and what could be improved. Consider what might be a small thorn in your side and how to file it down. Remember, little things, good and bad, add up over time. It is very difficult to try for large changes all at once, so don’t be so hard on yourself. Start small. Even changing where you workout might help. Shvitzing now helps you keep from plotzing later as your health improves! Good things come to those who shvitz!

Are you working out your mind and soul too? Are you setting goals there too? How do you handle your minutes when you just need to sit down for a moment? How about trying to read for five minutes before lights out? Can you try to say a small prayer from the Siddur while you’re heading to set the water to boil in the morning? [Our coffee maker passed away, but with an investment in an airpot and thermos, both I and Himmit have discovered that boiling is better.] What about playing Psalms quietly while waking up the household? (try Sons of Korah)
